My brother Paul shares love through labor, whether it's helping Mom and Dad during home construction nearly 20 years ago or spending an afternoon waxing and detailing family vehicles like mine on a Saturday afternoon. As we've grown older, I've noticed that a love of doing good work well is expressed in different ways by each of my siblings, a handing down through example from our parents and from each of their parents, too. I presume that care extends deep into the roots of our family trees in Old Europe. These reflections appear easily in the quiet of manual work, a pulse that gives meaning to the cadence. I'm glad to be part of a family of shapers and makers who put love and care into everything we do.
